Notes From Two Bridges
In the morning, crossing the bridge by bicycle.
Having lunch at a favorite café, then taking a breather in the park.
Walking through the city without a particular destination, stopping to look inside a newly opened shop.
In New York, even those casual moments help shape the everyday lives of the people who work in the city.
Architectural designer Nick Poe and event producer and floral designer Yuni Danielle are two people who work within that rhythm of the city.
Apollo’s, Lee’s, and Time Again, which Nick has worked on, are places where all kinds of people gather and where new ideas and culture are born. With those spaces as her stage, Yuni creates moments that connect people through event production.
While working in the same place, each has their own time within the city.
Nick moves through the city on foot or by bicycle and sometimes enjoys the view from a bus window. Between work, he plays chess in Washington Square Park or spends time with his dog. Being in the city’s atmosphere has become a natural way for him to reset.
Every morning, Yuni crosses the Williamsburg Bridge by Citi Bike and heads to Chinatown. Between work, she also walks through the city, stopping by perfume shops, vintage stores, and cafés. The time she spends working as a floral designer exists as a natural extension of those everyday moments.
Walking through the city, meeting people, and spending time in their own ways.
The accumulation of those everyday experiences supports their creations.
