For the 2025 Fall & Winter season, a new lineup of down outerwear featuring GORE-TEX fabrics will be released. As we head into the heart of winter, we’re highlighting key pieces that embody the collection’s concept - outdoor wear designed to perform in the city.
As one of the brand’s signature items, the GORE-TEX series has continued from the previous season. In addition to Field jackets and coats made with GORE-TEX fabrics - a high-performance material trusted for its proven functionality in outdoor environments - this season introduces a new addition: down outerwear.
Like the Field Jacket and Hooded Coat, the down outerwear uses a two-layer ePE GORE-TEX fabric that combines a non-fluorinated waterproof, breathable membrane with a water-repellent finish. The outer material is a 70-denier recycled nylon poplin with a subdued matte texture, giving the piece a solid, urban look.
The ePE (expanded polyethylene) membrane eliminates PFAS (per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances) - organic fluorine compounds that pose potential environmental and health concerns - making it a functional material developed with sustainability in mind.
The lining is made of smooth recycled polyester ripstop, while the area around the neck features soft, warm corduroy for added comfort. Below the brand label, a GORE-TEX product tag is placed side by side.
The insulation uses KODENSHI® down, refined by Kawada Feather, one of Japan’s leading down material manufacturers. Using pure water drawn from the region’s rich natural environment and Kawada’s proprietary cleaning process, the down is thoroughly washed to remove all impurities and dust. The result is clean, lightweight down with a soft texture that fully maximizes its natural ability to retain warmth and release moisture by creating a layer of warm air.
This clean down is then blended with KODENSHI® ceramics, which efficiently emit far-infrared rays(body heat) within the body’s natural temperature range to generate warmth. The result - KODENSHI® down - performs especially well in environments with sudden temperature changes, making it ideal for urban life where conditions can shift dramatically between indoors and outdoors.
The hood design is based on patterns used in outdoor wear and features a stretch cord that runs from the upper back neck to contour the face. When tightened, it effectively blocks out cold air - a functional detail suited for both harsh outdoor conditions and the winter winds of the city.
A stretch cord is also placed at the hem, allowing not only for silhouette adjustment but also for preventing cold air from entering from below. The shrink-wrapped cord tips are easy to handle and add a subtle design accent.
Inside the cuffs are inner panels designed to block out cold air. The right interior pocket is just the right size for storing accessories such as a scarf or knit cap.
The front uses a two-way VISLON® zipper for easy wear and removal, giving the jacket a clean, minimal look. As a waterproof down jacket, every seam is carefully sealed with seam tape to ensure full protection against rain and moisture.
Drawing from military origins, this piece incorporates pocket details from THE NORTH FACE’s iconic Grizzly Peak Jacket, combining warmth, lightness, and waterproofing - all the key functions expected of a high-loft winter outer.
The design emphasizes a softly rounded shoulder line, achieving a well-balanced, moderately bulky silhouette. Despite its volume, it remains lightweight at approximately 1,080 g in size M - nearly the same as the brand’s standard Short Down Parka(1,060g) - offering warmth and comfort without added weight.
The color lineup includes Asphalt Gray, a signature brand color, and Black. The palette is refined to blend naturally into the urban environment, giving this piece - rooted in outdoor and military design - a sophisticated, modern finish.
A waterproof down jacket that combines GORE-TEX fabrics for waterproof breathability with high-performance KODENSHI® down, which uses the body’s own far-infrared rays to maintain natural warmth. Designed for peak functionality during the coldest months while retaining a timeless, enduring aesthetic, this piece embodies both performance and longevity.
