「A Set-up for our shared moments.」
Usually I’m rubbing my sleepy eyes as I get dressed in the morning, but today I woke up refreshed. Maybe it’s because I finally get to spend a day off with my girlfriend again. When was the last time we managed to sync our schedules like this? For a day like this, I’m not wearing just a plain T-shirt — In choose a setup from THE NORTH FACE Purple Label. The lapel jacket, made from the brand’s original nylon-polyester canvas, has a classic appearance. A setup might sound stuffy, but this one gives me room to breathe — the armholes, body, and inseam are all relaxed enough to let me play with silhouette without losing my sense of self. Throwing on a work shirt underneath feels right. It’s understated, but the WINDSTOPPER® liner inside blocks the wind, which I appreciate. With inner pockets in the jacket, I can wander through the ’POST’ exhibition or pick up a photo book and still feel light and unencumbered. Holding the book under my arm as I head to meet her, my steps feel a little lighter than usual.
After returning to Tokyo from a solo work assignment last year, life had been hectic, but it’s finally settled down. Before I realized it, the wind had turned crisp, and there’s that familiar, pleasant scent of autumn in the air. The field jacket made of tightly woven Weather Cloth is the perfect piece for this slightly chilly season. It’s a men’s size, but with the waist webbing belt and cinched cuffs, it fits me comfortably and naturally — which makes me happy. The matching culottes, made from the same fabric, have a wrap-style front, so they look like a skirt but are actually easy-to-move-in pants. I heard we’d be going on a boat today, so I’m glad I chose this outfit.
