Continuing from the previous season, THE NORTH FACE Purple Label’s 2025 Fall & Winter season focuses on the concept of "urban outdoor wear," proposing a lifestyle that embraces nature within city living. The collection’s theme remains "The Mountain Ivy."

This collection updates THE NORTH FACE’s masterpieces that have been created with the changing times as street wear. The styling theme is urban heavy duty Ivy style with a mix of American culture and Ivy style.

Under the slogan UR“FUN” OUTDOOR LIFE (URBAN OUTDOOR LIFE + FUN ), the brand will provide support for everyday living through three categories.

The color palette is based on the brand’s signature asphalt gray. Focusing on this refined, urban color, the collection is scattered with a range of gray tones—like stone and muted charcoal—that appear faded with wear. For the classic outdoor items, deep brown tones inspired by the look of trees and a rust-like hue reminiscent of weathered natural elements are used as accent colors.

This season, the collection actively incorporates performance fabrics such as GORE-TEX fabrics to update its core items. Using trusted materials from the sports world, like lightweight PERTEX® fabrics and highly moisture-wicking ALPHADRY® fabrics, the collection aims to enhance each item to better adapt to the environmental changes and climate conditions of urban life. Additionally, the long-standing classic Medium Day Pack has been reimagined with eco-conscious CORDURA RE/COR™ fabric into a new model.

Category1. ASPHALT & GREEN RECORD

This is a category of wear that supports a lifestyle centered around enjoying and recording nature in everyday life. It features items with strong messaging and designs layered with the nostalgic feeling of old-fashioned America.

At the start of the season, to help endure the intense heat of the city a little more comfortably, the themes are "cooling" and "indigo." Originally developed for trail running wear, ALPHADRY® fabric offers excellent moisture-wicking and stretch properties, making it a functional material suited to Japan’s hot and humid summers. Field jacket, which blends elements of workwear and THE NORTH FACE detailing, features highly functional pockets and is proposed as a versatile outerwear piece that can handle the large temperature differences between outdoors and indoors during midsummer.

For this package featuring cotton recycled nylon weather fabric, the season proposes a gray color achieved by sulfur-dyeing black warp threads and then fading the color. The mood this season is about tones that look like they have been worn and faded like vintage pieces. The stand-collar jacket, characterized by its clean neckline, and the double-knee work pants are both lightweight and comfortable, offering a shirt-like ease perfect for hot weather. For styling, the collection also includes breathable piqué work shirts and cut-and-sewn tops made with SORONA® yarn plated on the reverse side, providing comfortable options even during the hottest months.

Category2. TRIP IN THE WIND

This is the category of wear that supports comfortable travel styles, making transportation and long journeys more comfortable. It includes lightweight and compact garments that can adapt to sudden changes in weather conditions, as well as utility items that are convenient to bring along on travels. This season, a slightly lighter shade of olive, inspired by military wear, has been added to the color palette.

The classic Mountain Wind Parka retains its signature front pocket design, but is now updated with a lightweight 50-denier recycled polyester PERTEX® QUANTUM ripstop fabric. A new stow pocket allows the jacket to be packed into itself, making it highly portable and perfect for travel when you need to minimize baggage.

For accessories, a new utility case crafted from an original polyester wool ripstop fabric joins the lineup. Compact yet highly functional, it can carry essentials like passports, cards, smartphones, and batteries — supporting your travels with lightness and convenience.

Category3. PURPLE BASE

The foundation of THE NORTH FACE Purple Label, the PURPLE BASE, is seasonless and ageless. It features neutral designs made from environmentally conscious materials, functional patterns, and durable, meticulously crafted sewing. These clothes are comfortable to wear anytime by anyone. It is a category built around the classic outdoor designs that the brand values.

The highlight of this category is the renewal of the iconic Medium Day Pack from THE NORTH FACE Purple Label. Originally developed by THE NORTH FACE as a daypack for short mountain hikes, it features a simple functional beauty that transcends trends. This update uses 1000D CORDURA RE/COR™ recycled nylon oxford for the outer fabric and replaces the original leather parts, such as the bottom and tape holders, which required high durability, with suede-texture synthetic leather Ultrasuede®. Offered in urban asphalt gray and black, and available in two sizes, it’s a new standard backpack designed for long-term seasonal use.

In the second half of the season, a mountain parka crafted from quilted recycled nylon taffeta and a Sierra Vest made with Ultrasuede®, known for its soft texture and rich coloration, will debut. These reinterpret the master pieces of THE NORTH FACE Purple Label, incorporating original quilt stitch patterns and unique synthetic suede materials, offering a fresh new take.

A short jacket and a Mountain Short Down Parka made from a classic outdoor material - grosgrain cloth woven from organic cotton and recycled nylon - along with a new women’s down coat, are being added to the lineup. Be sure to also check out the new series named "Double Peak."

The cover art is drawn by the artist Kamihoriuchi Kohei, as artist from FFFES（For, Feel, Find Endangered Species）collection 2025 fall and winter. Using a brush, the tool of his life’s work, he painted “the earth” in a single color of ink black. He added high expectations to the beginning of the brand’s new season.

For the 2025 Fall & Winter season, while keeping the same styling themes and concepts, we have focused again on updating the functionality of items by incorporating sports materials. By bringing in trusted functional fabrics from the outdoor field, we are expanding the range of items that can adapt to various scenes. With global climate change and extreme weather events in mind, we have designed the collection to transcend traditional seasonal boundaries, offering fashion that uplifts the spirit. The gray gradation, created through various techniques like garment dyeing and sulfur dyeing to give a worn-in, lived-in feel, has been refined into a color palette that blends more naturally into the city. Classic outdoor-rooted items have been sharpened with a sophisticated, modern expression. Drawing from the flow of tech nostalgia seen in the street scene, we are challenging ourselves to create products that combine both craft and technology sensibilities, proposing a new era of outdoor style. We hope our collection will evoke the feeling of freedom amidst the urban landscape.
