The long-standing staple of the brand, the Medium Day Pack, has been renewed with updated materials.
An iconic item in the history of THE NORTH FACE Purple Label, the Medium Day Pack was originally developed by THE NORTH FACE as a day-hiking backpack. Its simple, utilitarian design offers streamlined functionality and a timeless look.
This season, the brand’s signature backpack has been updated with eco-conscious CORDURA RE/COR™ fabric.
The body fabric was originally used for outdoor applications like tents and deck chairs, giving the item a reputation as a heavy-duty product. Carrying that image forward, it now uses 1000D CORDURA® RE/COR recycled nylon oxford — an environmentally conscious material. The fabric is highly resistant to tearing and abrasion, and features a PFC-free water-repellent finish that avoids fluorinated compounds, adding functional performance.
In the original model, durable leather was used for the bottom and tape holders. In this update, those parts have been replaced with Ultrasuede® — a suede-like synthetic leather. The material is environmentally conscious, made with 30% recycled resources from sugarcane waste and 30% plant-derived polyester. Its ultra-fine fiber construction gives it a refined texture, and its premium, suede-like feel enhances the product’s presence as functional gear.
The lineup includes two sizes: one that retains the dimensions of the traditional Medium Day Pack, and a larger version designed to fit those with a bigger build. With capacities of 20L and 32L respectively, the larger pack offers ample storage not only for daily use but also for travel and business trips.
The main compartment of the Medium Day Pack retains its original two-layer design, which allows for separated storage—even in the middle section. This feature was conceived for organizing wet clothes during mountain hikes. While this classic detail remains, the pack can also be used as a single, open compartment for simpler everyday use.
A small item pocket is placed at the top of the interior back panel. A sleeve on the back side allows for convenient storage of documents or a compact laptop. The design reflects an urban lifestyle, with thoughtful functionality for everyday use.
In addition to the brand’s signature Asphalt Gray, a new all-black model has also been released, with zippers and leather parts unified in black. The result is a basic design that can be carried out by all ages and genders.
The renewed Medium Day Pack was redesigned with a focus on environmental responsibility, everyday convenience, and rugged durability. Originally crafted in the 70’s as one of THE NORTH FACE’s iconic items, it has been updated to suit today’s lifestyle while preserving its heritage.
