Kicking off the 2025 Fall & Winter season, the theme is “cooling”—offering product solutions to help you get through the intense urban heat more comfortably. From THE NORTH FACE Purple Label comes a new release featuring items made with the functional ALPHADRY® fabric.
Originally developed for trail running, ALPHADRY® fabric offers excellent moisture-wicking and stretch performance-perfectly suited for Japan’s hot, humid summers. By combining this trusted sports-grade material with the concept of “enjoying and documenting nature,” a coverall jacket was created.
You won’t see it on the surface, but the fabric contains microscopic active particles that draw moisture away from the skin and move it to the outside. There, it’s evaporated using the body’s far-infrared rays (body heat) - keeping the inside of the garment dry. The fabric also stretches well and resists wrinkling. Made unlined, it offers a smooth, lightweight feel.
Designed to be worn as a coverall, this piece features subtle classic stitchwork that adds structure when the collar is flipped up. The shoulder slope is carefully patterned to create a rounded shoulder line, and the sleeves are set slightly forward to improve arm mobility—making it easier and more comfortable to move.
The large utility pockets are built for excellent storage capacity—fitting items like a camera, notebook, film, light meter, or even a bandana and other accessories with ease. The design was inspired by the idea of “heading into nature with a camera in hand.”
The underarm gussets, referencing traditional hunting wear patterns, are finished with eyelets for ventilation. This thoughtful update makes the jacket better suited to today’s hot, urban climates.
The left inner pocket includes a compartment large enough to hold a smartphone. The angled front pockets are based on an archival design from THE NORTH FACE Mountain Parka. Classic detailing is combined with a multi-pocket layout for added functionality.
