ASPHALT & GREEN RECORD Vol.1 “Waiting for Spring, Me and My Mountain Parka.”

I unpack the contents of my newly stuffed backpack item by item, doing a final check.
Before I know it, I’ve missed the time I was supposed to leave, and as usual, I dash out of the house in a hurry.
Where I’m from, if I miss this train, I’ll have to wait another 40 minutes for the next one.

My favorite mountain parka, which I throw on in a flash, has plenty of deep pockets that perfectly hold my wallet and camera.
I keep my well-worn, faded wallet in the right pocket and my film camera in the left. A forgetful person like me does best with functional clothing like this. No need for a bag, and I can head out anywhere on a whim. Plus, it’s water-repellent, so I won’t have to worry about sudden rainstorms.
It’s sure to be a reliable companion in my new life ahead.

People bustling along in hurried steps. Towering buildings I have to crane my neck to see the tops of.
Though I’m a bit overwhelmed by these unfamiliar sights, my faint longing for life in Tokyo is gradually shifting into something more concrete.
I’m probably going to remember this moment, years, even decades from now.
