Nanamica launches the 3rd upcycling project of THE NORTH FACE Purple Label.
This winter, THE NORTH FACE Purple Label produced by Nanamica will launch the 3rd upcycling project aiming to archive zero fashion waste. Addressing a significant challenge faced by the apparel industry, the project seeks to create value from excess fabric generated during the production process. Utilizing fabrics previously used by Nanamica and THE NORTH FACE Purple Label, a capsule collection has been created.
This collection reconstructs items by mixing the details of THE NORTH FACE archive styles, using excess fabric generated during the production process and materials from existing stock. The unique design character of the collection is highlighted by the combination of different materials, deviating from the usual use of materials in regular collections. Due to the limited availability of materials and the effort to control production numbers, the collection will be released exclusively at Nanamica and THE NORTH FACE stores.
Rather than adopting a uniform approach of using recycled fabrics or environmentally conscious materials, this project aims to achieve zero fashion waste by producing products that eliminate material waste and create added value.
Field Reversible Jacket with 65/35 Bayhead Duck Cloth on the front side and POLARTEC® fleece on the back side. Reversible design with different yarn count and number of stitches on the front and back. The product is washed to give it a soft texture resembling a well-worn jacket. THE NORTH FACE Berkeley graphics name label on the surface and THE NORTH FACE logo embroidered on the reverse side. An oversized silhouette with room in the body available in two sizes, M and L.
Field pants in patchwork design. POLARTEC® Fleece with Houndstooth pattern is mainly used. Combination of multiple fabrics gives the design a remake feel. The design is a mix of chino pants and sweatpants, with different number of stitches depending on the part of the fabric used. THE NORTH FACE logo embroidered on the left thigh. A wide silhouette with room at the waist available in two sizes, M and L.
This capsule collection is scheduled to be released on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the following Nanamica and THE NORTH FACE directly operated stores and Nanamica ONLINE STORE.
