From THE NORTH FACE Purple Label, we have picked up a Field Insulation Jacket, a hot item for the 2024 Fall & Winter season.
In addition to the brand’s signature down items, this season features an expanded range of insulation padded items. Instead of using natural down, we adopted insulation padding material (PRIMALOFT®) that is resistant to water and easy to handle. This makes the items more suitable for the rapidly changing climate, with easy-care features while still maintaining strong design character.
The outer fabric, featuring military-patterned stitching, uses 30-denier recycled polyester ripstop. For the shoulder area, taslan polyester taffeta material is used, combining THE NORTH FACE’s signature design with military elements for added style.
The padding utilizes PRIMALOFT® Black Insulation RISE, which excels in warmth and lightness. Using this high-loft padding creates a down-like loftiness. The insulation material is environmentally friendly, made from approximately 80% recycled PET bottles.
The left chest area, made from Taslan polyester taffeta, features THE NORTH FACE logo embroidery. The outer fabric is treated with a PFC-free water-repellent finish that does not use environmentally harmful fluorinated compounds, adding extra functionality.
Like the iconic down jackets from THE NORTH FACE in the 90s, this design also features a stand collar. The collar is equipped with a stowable hood that can be used in sudden rain, making it adaptable to the unpredictable weather conditions of urban life.
The front features a reverse-opening Vislon® zipper designed for easy temperature regulation and access to the hem. The silhouette is designed to be oversized with a relaxed fit around the body. Both sides of the hem have cord stoppers, allowing the wearer to adjust and tighten the cords for a snug fit even with a larger size.
While the item has a lofted feel, it is tailored to create a clean and sleek look around the waist.
The front waist pockets are configured with four sections. The top-access pockets use snap buttons, while the side-access pockets use zippers, offering thoughtful storage options. The chest area features an inner pocket for convenient storage of small items like smartphones or keys.
The quilted design, inspired by military liner jackets, gives this piece a strong presence. While the eye tends to focus on its appearance, the distinctive quilting is actually a functional design to prevent the inner padding from shifting, ensuring efficient body heat retention. The lineup includes classic military colors: olive drab and black.
