During this period of intense heat, THE NORTH FACE Purple Label is releasing a new cut-and-sew item that can be worn for a long season until the arrival of a full-fledged winter.
The autumn and winter seasons require adapting to rapid temperature changes. We have reviewed the material and design of our versatile cut-and-sew items. As a key item for the season’s start, this piece is proposed as a new variation in addition to the classic USA cotton 7oz jersey T-shirt series.
The material is jersey made from USA cotton open-end yarn. The original 9.5oz jersey features a moderately thick, dry texture. Leveraging the unique touch and coarse appearance of open-end yarn, it is proposed as a comfortable layering item.
Imagined to be thrown over T-shirts and shirts for timely wear, it can also be worn as a mid-layer as the season progresses, making it useful for a long time. The half-zip design adds an accent to the neckline and brings variation to outfits. Although it looks basic at first glance, it incorporates outdoor details such as a split raglan sleeve design with set-in sleeves on the front and raglan sleeves on the back.
Both sides feature zippered waist pockets utilizing switching. The left sleeve has a THE NORTH FACE original logo patch, adding a one-point accent. The silhouette is a relaxed oversized fit that can be worn over base layers. The color palette includes basic oatmeal and charcoal, as well as seasonal royal blue.
Despite using jersey material, the series is finished to have a sweatshirt-like feel. Aiming for a weight that is more substantial than a T-shirt but lighter than a sweatshirt, it allows for enjoyable layering even in hot weather. This versatile cut-and-sew item will be useful in the upcoming season of continued heat. Please check it out.
