nanamica MOUNTAIN produces “STROLL IN THE SHIZEN” photo exhibition vol.2

Nanamica will be hosting a limited-time photography exhibition titled ’STROLL IN THE SHIZEN - Exploring the City, Recording Nature’ at nanamica MOUNTAIN in Daikanyama, Tokyo.

nanamica MOUNTAIN, located in the Daikanyama area, is one of nanamica’s three stores that focus on urban outdoor life, including ways of enjoying outdoor activities for urban dwellers, and fostering connections with nature.

The theme of this year’s photo exhibition, like last year, revolves around enjoying and recording nature in the city. This theme is closely linked to the concept of ’ASPHALT & GREEN RECORD,’ a category within THE NORTH FACE Purple Label collection primarily sold at nanamica MOUNTAIN. Staff members at nanamica MOUNTAIN carried film cameras, seeking encounters with nature in everyday urban landscapes, walking through the city, and capturing these moments."

The photos taken from each staff member’s perspective in Tokyo were captured using disposable film cameras produced by the well-established photography specialty store Popeye Camera in Jiyugaoka. These film cameras, with their analog-specific texture and the excitement leading up to development, offer a charm that is both nostalgic and refreshing in today’s era dominated by high technology.
