THE NORTH FACE Purple Label / Featured Product vol.88
"Featured Product" is a section where we highlight seasonal items.
From the 2025 Fall & Winter season, the new “Double Peak” series joins the lineup. Drawing from the brand’s cherished classic outdoor design language, we’re highlighting a new Field Jacket from this collection.
One of the brand’s signature materials is the 65/35 Bayhead Cloth, but to expand the collection, a new fabric has been developed. This item uses cotton-nylon grosgrain — a classic outdoor textile — alongside Bayhead Cloth.
The interwoven fabric combines recycled nylon for the warp and organic cotton for the weft. When the cotton fibers absorb water, they swell, narrowing the gaps between the threads and naturally increasing water resistance — a classic functional feature of natural materials.
Blending this traditional approach with modern technology, the fabric is treated with a PFC-free water-repellent finish that avoids fluorinated chemicals, creating a balance that embodies THE NORTH FACE Purple Label’s ethos.

The collar — a defining feature of the jacket — is designed as a 2-way style that can be worn either as a stand collar or folded down. Inspired by the heavy-duty jackets of the 1970s, the inner collar is made from corduroy. The corduroy itself is a soft-touch blend of organic cotton and recycled polyester, giving it a refined look whether worn upright or laid flat.

The front features a double closure design with both a zipper and snap buttons, making it a lightweight outerwear piece ideal for layering. While based on a classic aesthetic, it incorporates pocket details from THE NORTH FACE’s Grizzly Peak Jacket. The waist pockets are designed with side access like a traditional Mountain Parka, and an interior pocket on the left front placket further nods to that heritage. The back panel showcases classic outdoor wear pattern-making, and the stitching is meticulously executed with fine needlework. The sleeve lining uses 50 Denier PERTEX® QUANTUM recycled polyester ripstop, allowing for smooth on-and-off wear. The jacket is finished with a relaxed silhouette that offers a comfortable, roomy fit.

One standout detail is the custom-developed heather gray cotton recycled polyester twill used for the body lining. Its subtle contrast against the slightly glossy outer fabric adds a modern touch to the otherwise classic mood of the jacket, enhancing its overall character with a refined, contemporary edge.

The color palette features three options: gray, moss green, and black. Compared to the classic 65/35 Bayhead Cloth, this fabric has a crisper, more structured surface—but with wear, it gradually softens and develops a naturally aging, offering a unique sense of character over time.

While tracing the roots of classic outdoor wear, this new staple jacket has been updated with eco-conscious materials and refined silhouettes to suit modern urban living. Named “Double Peak,” it’s a hybrid piece that blends the strengths of both natural and synthetic materials — uniting the sensibilities of craft and tech. Be sure to take note of this hybrid outerwear — a true reflection of THE NORTH FACE Purple Label’s signature style.
