In celebration of Mountain Day, nanamica will release new nanamica MOUNTAIN souvenir items and host a pop-up in collaboration with ADA LAB (Aqua Design Amano Laboratory), known for producing paludariums — glass case displays that use LED lighting to cultivate plants.
nanamica MOUNTAIN is one of three nanamica stores located in the Daikanyama area, promoting the unique urban outdoor lifestyle that connects urban dwellers with nature. If you have an eye and heart for nature, you can enjoy an outdoor life full of surprises and discoveries even in the city.
With that in mind, we would like invite you to enjoy our souvenir collection and ADA LAB items on this year’s Mountain Day.
Here’s an introduction to the new YAMA Souvenir Collection. The collection features graphic designs of the character "山" (mountain) by artist Ryu Mieno, symbolizing the nanamica MOUNTAIN souvenirs. The release features updated materials and improved fit. Inspired by nature, the signature mountain text graphic — evoking the flicker of fire, the smoothness of water, and the vitality of plants — is incorporated into both the T-shirt and cap designs. The T-shirt is made from organic cotton jersey, while the cap uses nanamica’s signature covering core yarn chino cloth. This is a special nanamica MOUNTAIN souvenir collection.
Next, in line with the release of the souvenir collection, here’s a topic to elevate Mountain Day at nanamica MOUNTAIN. A limited-time pop-up by ADA LAB (Aqua Design Amano Laboratory) will showcase the many possibilities of paludariums, a new way to enjoy indoor greenery.
The term paludarium comes from palus (swamp or wetland) and arium (place or container). It refers to a modern, urban plant display style that recreates tropical rainforest - like environments inside a case. By using specialized LED lighting, even spaces without natural sunlight can host lush, atmospheric plant displays.
As urban living and lifestyles become more minimal, paludariums offer the freedom to enjoy greenery not just on sunny windowsills, but also on sideboards, dining tables, or inside your favorite shelf — bringing nature indoors as a flexible part of your interior decor.
A unique green world unfolds inside each small glass case — no two are ever the same. Created with nature in mind, these miniature landscapes reflect individual character, even while rooted in urban life.
During the pop-up, a special hands-on workshop will be held where participants can create their very own mini paludarium, guided by expert staff from ADA LAB. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore a new style of indoor greenery.
